The exciting tales of these fifty boys who were used by God will inspire young readers.

The stories of Billy Graham, C.S. Lewis, Martin Luther and many others are brought to life by award–winning author Irene Howat. Each book contains the stories of ten boys who grew up to be used by God in amazing ways. Readers will not only be amazed at the bravery, cleverness and faith of these boys, but will be inspired to look to the God who worked through each of them.

The books contain ten easy to read chapters of equal length. Each character’s chapter begins with an incident or memory from their childhood, reminding the reader that people who grew up to do amazing things were once children just like them. The chapters have a fact file, a keynote, a think spot and a prayer to help think through and apply what has been learned in the chapter. The books also conclude with a quiz to see how much the reader remembers. This box set contains all five Ten Boys books in a cardboard slipcase.

The set includes:

  • Ten Boys Who Changed the World (Brother Andrew; John Newton; Billy Graham; Eric Liddell; William Carey; David Livingstone; Nicky Cruz; Adoniram Judson; George Muller; and Luis Palau)
  • Ten Boys Who Used Their Talents (Wilfred Grenfell; C.S. Lewis; James Clerk Maxwell; Ghillean Prance; Paul Brand; Johann Sebastian Bach; Samuel Morse; George Washington Carver; C.T. Studd; and John Bunyan)
  • Ten Boys Who Made History (Samuel Rutherford; John Owen; Jonathan Edwards; George Whitefield; Robert Murray McCheyne; Dwight L. Moody; Billy Sunday; Charles H. Spurgeon; Aiden W. Tozer; and Martyn Lloyd–Jones)
  • Ten Boys Who Didn’t Give In (Polycarp; Alban; Sir John Oldcastle; Thomas Cranmer; George Wishart; James Chalmers’ Dietrich Bonhoeffer; Nate Saint; Ivan Moiseyev; and Graham Staines)
  • Ten Boys Who Made a Difference (Augustine of Hippo; Jan Hus; Martin Luther; Ulrich Zwingli; William Tyndale; Hugh Latimer; John Calvin; John Knox; Lord Shaftesbury; and Thomas Chalmers)

The Lightkeepers introduces readers aged 8–12 to the enjoyment of reading Christians biographies. The series also includes Ten Girls Who Changed the World; Ten Girls Who Used Their Talents; Ten Girls Who Made History; Ten Girls Who Didn’t Give In; Ten Girls Who Made a Difference; and Lightkeepers Girls Box Set.

Great! Great! Great!

Wow! These books are fantastic! There is just so much good jam packed into this set. Each of the five books gives a brief, but fascinating, look at ten virtuous men. The chapters are relatively short. A fact page is at the end of each chapter. A quiz is at the end of each book. (Hello fellow homeschool moms! This makes guided reading simple with these!) The font is on the large side (and is Comic). Each book is around 150 pages. Ten Boys Who Used Their Talents Paul Brand, Ghillean Prance, C.S. Lewis, C.T. Studd, Wilfred Grenfell, J.S. Very enjoyable and helps my son with anxiety

I bought these for my 10 year old son. So far, he is enjoying them. We read one chapter at night before bed. I got them in hopes of helping him become more trusting and understanding ofGod and how he loves us. He has been experiencing great anxiety with the COVID-19 pandemic and it is breaking me. It is already helping him. He goes to bed so much more at ease and is not so clingy wanting me to sleep with him until he falls asleep. I also purchased 2 other books to go with this set. He enjoys how I compare the boys in this book to his traits and gifts and he reads aloud with me on the prayers. It is precious time with these books and my son.

Incredible examples of honorable men, but best as read aloud for younger boys.

My son is a first grader with a third grade reading level. These books are yet a little hard for him (I think that's due in part to his shorter first grade focus--no pictures-- and in part some bigger vocabulary), but they've made a great read-aloud for us. I love putting worthy men in front of my son's mind for him to emulate, and these men are worthy!!

Publishing Error

This looks like a great series and we were excited to give it to our kids for Christmas. Unfortunately, the very first story we turned to about the life of Eric Liddell in “Ten Boys Who Changed the World” was missing! The book skips from page 48 to page 73, and then again from page 96 to 73, but pages 49 to 72 are completely missing. We have been unsuccessful (so far) in our attempts to contact the seller to see if we can get a replacement copy of that particular book (in an effort to avoid having to return the entire set). An update is forthcoming if we are able to get a good resolution.

Wonderful!

Good books about real Christian men and how they lived their life and changed the world. Good for reading level 2nd through 5th graders, but even older would enjoy the stories. I love the Faith building concept through lives of real men like Lincoln, Jonathan Edwards, C.S. Lewis...etc.

Missing a title

Very disappointed to receive collection with a missing title, we didn't receive the title ten boys who changed the world, instead we received two titles of 10 boys who didn't give in. Overall a great collection. My eight year old son is looking forward to starting this new series.

Doesnt get any better

We use this in lieu of trial and triumph. T&T was just too 'old' .... It wasnt engaging for my younger children and it was far too graphic and depressing. Lightkeepers isnt graphic but it tells the truth and actually engages the reader/listener more. This book set is amazing. It is written in such an engaging style that it keeps even my 5/6year old hooked! I love everything about these books and am so thankful that there is something like this to use. I cant write enough good things about these books :)

Missing a book!

Bought two sets. One for a grandson and one for myself so that we could read them together as we live across the country feom one another. He was excited to read them and there is no issue with his order but I found in my order there were two of 'Boy Who Changed The World' and is missing ' Boy Who Made History'. Hoping this issue gets rectified!

Awesome book set!

This is a wonderful set of books. My son, who does not really like to read all that much, is enjoying the books. The stories are short, and he is finding he can relate to the different people in many ways. Plus, he is learning a lot of church and regular history all at the same time. I am glad I found these books!

:(( 25+ missing pages

The first book my son read was by far one of his favorites until he got to the end and over 25 pages were missing!! What??? He has started the second book in this series and is hoping this doesn't happen again!! There were also many grammatical errors that my 10 year old pointed out, and not the momma!!
