Season of Angels
From the #1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Debbie Macomber comes a beautiful repackage of the classic novel that started it all.
Wishes for love bring hope from above.
Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy—three willing but sometimes wayward angels—are each given someone's prayer to answer . . .
Shirley: She's sent to help nine-year-old Timmy Potter, who longs for a new father. And although his mother, Jody, has vowed never to trust any man, Shirley is determined to help her love again.
Goodness: She knows Monica Fischer longs for a husband and home of her own, but the young woman has practically given up on finding the right man to stand by her side . . . until Goodness steps in to help.
Mercy: Can Mercy bring hope back into Leah Lundberg's life? This maternity nurse desperately wants a child to fill up the home she’s made with her husband, Andrew.
But there's just one catch: Each angel must teach her charge a memorable lesson before the prayer can be granted . . .

Not what you might expect...
Unfortunately, A Season of Angels was disappointing. I was expecting a story about the workings of angels and it was like when you watch a movie because you'd heard your favorite actor starred, but in reality, he or she had a one-liner. Even so, the writing was engaging, but not page-turning, and the editing was below average. This is what one might expect from a writer early (1993) in her career. I have not read any other books by Debbie Macomber, and because of this example, I may not read another.
Angels
Well, fun, fast, and fabulous! Read the entire book in less than 24 hours. I am a fan of Debbie Macomber and have read a couple other of her novels. I love the Mrs Miracle TV series. This is the first Angels Everywhere book I have read, but not the last. I love happy endings where everything is tied up in a neat bow and this was exactly that! The characters were well developed and fun to get to know and watch as they matured. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed good clean stories even if they can be called a bit of fluff. We need a bit of fluff now and again, especially around the holidays!
A story read before
Wonderful Christmas story about three angels named Shirley, Goodness and Mercy! They are charged with fulfilling the unanswered prayers of three very different women just three weeks before Christmas. A very heartwarming story worth the read more than once!
Sweet story
I read this as part of a book club, right before Christmas. It’s a cute story, not deep, not mind blowing, but sweet and happy. I’m surprised it hasn’t been turned into a a Hallmark Christmas movie!
A Great Christmas Story
Do you believe in angels? I do. Have the faith this Christmas season! And every season. A touching group of stories that will warm your heart!!
Shirley, Goodness and Mercy my idea of angels!
I had intended to keep this book until Christmas, but just couldn't wait. What a delightful threesome these angels are. Keeping them out of trouble is like having young triplets. A real feel good story, which I've come to expect from Debbie Macomber.
Delightful
This is a story about three women and their biggest desire. Sounds simple enough everyone prays for something. It's also about three angels , let's call them their guardian angels. These angels are novices. They don't understand humans that well. They think they know better than their charge. And they all have something on earth that distracts them. So many different emotions run through this storyline. Lots of laughs, some tears but definitely a few lessons to be learned by all of them. Great job. Thank you.
Fabulous
I always love to read about Shirley, Goodness and Mercy. Debbie McComber 's Christmas books are my favorites. I recommend it to anyone.
The Trio of Angels are heaven sent to help out at Christmastime.
When Shirley, Goodness and Mercy come to earth, look out Gabriel! Seems they can't pass up an opportunity to try out earthly devices. Moving Navy ships? No big deal. Putting an angel on TV sets in a department store, or on a person's TV? Yep, that can happen. Angels on an escalator? Another favorite past time on earth. They do manage to help their assigned humans, even with their occasional shenanigans. Great stories!
Worth a second read!
It is not often that I intentionally read a book twice but in this instance, it was planned. Of course I rated this book 5 stars, what else for such an author as Debby Macomb? I loved these 3 precious stories the 1st time I read them and even more so this second time. Nothing could be more enjoyable than reading about some really silly angels attempting to do what the Angel Gabriel has asked them to do. So very delightful!
